Lucy Chipkin
Lucy records written and oral testimony for survivors of the Holocaust for the Sydney Jewish Museum. Lucy sees her role as that of bearing witness to the genocide of approximately six million European Jews during World War II, a programme of systematic state-sponsored extermination by Nazi Germany throughout Nazi-occupied territory. It is essential to record their testimonies in the face of growing revisionism and denial of the Holocaust, and also, as one survivor wrote, so that she ‘ would not disappear without a trace and something would be left behind of what life had meant to (her).’
